If you're having issues with a touchscreen, for instance random 'ghost clicks' or other annoyances, you can try turning it off with these steps:
Note: First, try wiping off the screen with a soft cloth or T-shirt. Debris or moisture can sometimes activate the touchscreen.
- Open up a new tab in Chrome using the + symbol at the top
- Type or click chrome://flags/#ash-debug-shortcuts
- This should open a window with an option for "Debugging keyboard shortcuts"; click Disabled and change it to Enabled
- Make sure you're not in the middle of something, then click Restart in the lower right of that window
- When the system is back on, press Shift + Search (the magnifying glass) + T and check the touchscreen is off
From this point on, pressing Shift + Search + T will toggle the touchscreen on that Chromebook. If you need to do this, please contact us using the information below for a replacement.
