Getting started
These instructions assume you already have a Zoom meeting created, and have access to the meeting details. If not, see the instructions to Start a new meeting using a Zoom Room.
Zoom rooms consist of a tablet control panel underneath a TV.
- The tablet should already be turned on. If not, try tapping the screen.
- If the TV is not already on, turn it on using the remote.
- The TV should show a Zoom logo. If not, try using the Input button on the remote to switch to Zoom or HDMI.
From here, there are two options to join the meeting: The first option is easier, but requires you to be signed in with a school account on your PC.
Option 1: Add the room to your meeting
On your PC, start or join your Zoom meeting. From the meeting page, as shown in the following screenshot:
- Click Participants, which should open the Participants sidebar on the right,
- Then, click Invite on the right sidebar:
In the pop-up that opens, like the one in the following screenshot:
- Go to the Zoom Rooms tab at the top,
- Select the board room you are using, then
- Click the Invite button at the bottom right:
Once you send the invite, a prompt should appear on the tablet asking if you'd like to join:
- Tap Accept,
- Make sure you're unmuted and video is enabled on the tablet,
- Then, you're good to go!
Option 2: Join a meeting manually
If you don't have access to invite the Zoom Room to the meeting, you can join the meeting manually directly from the tablet. Select the blue Join button on the Home page:
The tablet will prompt you for a meeting ID. This is a number that can usually be found on the invite or calendar event:
However, you can also find it by clicking the green shield icon in the upper left of the Zoom meeting on another device.
- If you're prompted for a passcode, it should be listed in the same place. Type it, then tap Join.
- Once you've joined, make sure you're unmuted and video is enabled on the tablet, and change any view preferences you'd like.
- Then, you're good to go!
