To view two apps at once, drag the top of the app all the way to the side of the screen:
Note: If you're used to just tapping the touchpad to click, you might have to press down to click and drag. If this doesn't work, keep scrolling for an alternate method.
You can also use Alt + [ and Alt + ] to quickly move a window to the left or right side of the screen, respectively:
