Avoiding spam email

On your GOAL email, there is a degree of filtering to prevent spam, impersonation, and other attacks. However, some malicious email may still make it through, and your personal email isn't managed by us, so here are some tips to avoid falling for a trap:

  • Always check the email address of the sender. On your work email, anything that doesn't come from @mygda.org should be marked with a yellow "External" label and warning.
  • Be cautious of any message that is both vague ("Need you to handle a quick request") and urgent ("as soon as you can"). You can always call your coworkers or us in Tech to verify a message.
  • You can report spam using the three dots near the right of an open email. This will actually notify us in addition to helping Google, so we highly encourage you to do it:
